Doua Kha
SECRETARY
Doua Kha (they/them) is a queer HMoob refugee scholar who is a doctoral candidate in the Curriculum & Instructions Department at the University of Washington College of Education. Their work and research examines the ways queer and trans HMoob youth sustains and nurture their heritage, language, and identity against the backdrop of white-cisgender-heteronormative-patriarchal violence. Doua is also the Student Behavior Support Program Supervisor at the WA Office of Superintendent of Public Instructions, overseeing state-wide initiatives and programs that promotes positive behavioral support in young people. They have presented their work and on behalf of their community across the nation at several conferences, including the International Conference on Education and Justice and the American Educational Research Association, and have published articles in peer-reviewed Academic journals such as the Asian American Policy Review and Professing Education.

Bee Vang
Bee Vang is a first generation Hmong refugee who arrived in the United States in the early 1980’s with her family. They arrived in Providence, RI but eventually re-settled in the Twin Cities to be closer to her father’s Vang clan relations. Vang graduated from Minneapolis Patrick Henry High School as the Valedictorian of her class and went on to complete her undergraduate degree at Carleton College. She has worked in the banking industry for over 20 years and is currently the Assistant Vice President of Huntington Bank’s (formerly TCF National Bank) IT Commercial Equipment Finance Data & Analytics division.
